Overview

Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is a safe, fast, and minimally invasive procedure, in which a trained physician uses a special instrument called a colonoscope to view the gastrointestinal (GI) tract; specifically the colon and rectum.

Colon Cancer Screening

According to the American Cancer Society, colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. One of the procedures to detect this is a colonoscopy.

Endoscopy

An endoscopy often referred to as an upper GI endoscopy or upper endoscopy (EDG), is a minimally invasive procedure used to evaluate the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

Similar to a colonoscopy, a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy occurs when a physician needs to appraise the lining of the rectum and the large intestine
